A new museum in Vietnam is drawing visitors with its unusual design inspired by pottery wheels.

The 3,300 square-metre building in the ancient ceramics village of Bat Trang will function as a venue for arts and crafts and cultural tourism.

Designed by architect Hoang Thuc Hao, the museum features seven funnel-shaped buildings, the outer walls of which are carved into multi-layered patterns.

Bat Trang is one of the oldest, most famous traditional craft villages of northern Vietnam.

Ceramics produced there are considered to be of high quality and are widely sold all over the country.
