Two sandalwood smugglers wrecked their truck while traveling at high speed uphill in Assam, India, spilling their cargo and totaling their vehicle. Largely indifferent to the plight of smugglers, few locals were likely to stop and offer assistance to the stranded duo, according to a local guide.

The crash happened on road AH1 between the towns of Kohora and Borhola in the Indian state of Assam. The roadway runs alongside the world famous Kaziranga National Park which is home to numerous endangered or at-risk animals including the Indian (One-horned) Rhino, Asian Elephant, Bengal Tiger, Indian and Clouded Leopards, Chinese Pangolin, Gangetic River Dolphin, and more.
