Shocking footage shows a fire ripping through the roof of a 15-story office block in the business district of the Philippines today (April 6).

The inferno started in the Vernida IV building in the Makati City area of the capital Manila shortly before 3pm local time. Water was seen being sprayed out of the window of a nearby building as the blaze continued to engulf the structure.

The fire reached a ‘second alarm’ stage, prompting eight firetrucks to respond to the area before it was declared out at 3:48 pm.

Bureau of Fire Superintendent Ian Guerrero said no one was reported injured from the incident.

He said: ‘That floor was being occupied by a company. They were using it as an office space. Nobody was reported injured after the blaze.’

The cause of the fire was still being investigated by the fire marshalls.
