This is the scary moment residents sheltered inside a building being battered by strong wind and heavy rain during tropical storms in Thailand.

Residents were caught in the thunderstorm as it struck Nan province in the north of the country on April 4.

Thailand’s Meteorological Department issued warnings to 13 provinces in northern Thailand to stay alert as summer storms moved across the region towards the capital Bangkok.

Locals were advised to stay indoors while farmers were also warned to be prepared for damage to buildings and agricultural land caused by the storm.

Forcasters said the torrential weather was due to a high-pressure system from China that was moving across the country towards the capital Bangkok.
