Abandoned aeroplane transformed into supermarket in southern China
An abandoned aeroplane was transformed into a supermarket in a residential community in southern China.
The video, filmed in the city of Chengdu in Sichuan Province on April 2, shows groceries, mahjong tables and tea tables all inside an II-18 aeroplane made by the former Soviet Union.
According to reports, the aeroplane was phased out of service gradually since 1988, it was then bought by a developer in 2001 and moved to the central square of a residential community for people to visit.
In 2019, the residential community adapted the plane into a 24-hour supermarket that provides a delivery service.
