A volunteer community park group called the ‘Friends of Pinner Village Gardens’ have been busy during lockdown over the past year to transform one of the local parks in the London Borough of Harrow. The park itself has seen an increase in numbers over the year especially those taking advantage of being outdoors for exercise and being close to nature. The community park group wanted to make the place more beautiful and have been working hard during their spare time.

The effort hasn’t been unnoticed as the group have planted a variety of plants including bluebells, daffodils and tulips. They have painted the benches, planned new wildflower meadows, put an information board about the park, built signposts and planted new trees. They have also helped encourage the local wildlife too and in this video, you can hear birdsong and an appearance of one of the UK’s favourite birds, the Robin.
