Introducing the tiny Narbalek – a kind of tiny Rock Wallaby from Australia

Buy video

Narbaleks (Petrogale concinna, meaning 'elegant rock-weasel') are tiny kangaroos or rock wallabies that live in three distinct populations in rocky habitats in the far north of Australia. Narbaleks are shy nocturnal animals, venturing out to feed on grasses, sedges and ferns, often some distance from the safety of their rocky refuge. This Narbalek seemed to be used to people – it remained calm as we watched it as it lay then groomed under a rock overhang at Ubirr in Kakadu National Park in the Northern Territory, Australia.
