Displaced residents on the Indonesian island of Lembata have taken shelter in a village hall after Tropical Cyclone Seroja wreaked havoc in the area.

Footage from April 8 shows a few dozen locals lying on mats in village halls.

Around 300 residents were forced to flee after flash flooding caused by Tropical Cyclone Seroja destroyed their homes.

As many as 300 people from two villages in Lembata, East Nusa Tenggara, namely Lamawolo and Waitaman Villages, East Ile Ape District, fled their homes at the refugee camp at SMP Negeri Nubatuan, Lembata.
Their homes were destroyed by flash floods and landslides as a result of the Seroja tropical cyclone.
In Lembata, 32 people died, 35 people were missing, and 49 people were injured.
Lembata Regency is one of the locations that experienced a heavy impact. The condition of the settlement under the hill is one of the triggers for the magnitude of the impact. The extreme weather of the Seroja Tropical Cyclone caused flash floods and landslides at the location. The road access was cut off due to a large number of large stones and materials that were carried away during the landslide.
There are seven points of evacuation in Lembata Regency, namely in the East Lewoleba urban village office hall, the Central Lewoleba urban village office hall, the Selandoro village head office hall, the Lewoleba Tengah village head office hall, the Nubatuan sub-district office hall, the BKDSDM office hall, the East Ile Ape District office hall and East Ile Ape 1 State Junior High School.
