A group of college students, celebrating a birthday party in a cafeteria had to pay a fine for breaking COVID-19 protocols in central India's Madhya Pradesh on April 8. The incident unfolded in the Betul district.

Visuals of the incident feature a group of college students partying at a cafe. However, within moments, the local administrative authority reaches the site and imposes a fine on the group along with the cafe authority.

The group, consisting of 42 students, was allegedly caught celebrating a birthday party as they gathered in the cafe amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Following this, the authorities levied a fine of Rs 2 thousand (USD 27) on the cafe and Rs 100 (USD 1.34) on the students present there.
