A gaur was rushed to a vet after falling into a deep pit and fracturing its back legs in southern India.

The 3-year-old Indian bison was found lying down at the bottom of a pit in Chamarajanagar, Karnataka, on April 8.

The injured animal was lifted out of the pit by a crane and was taken to a vet on the back of a truck.
