Fear gripped the locals when an elephant strayed onto a residential region and wreaked havoc in eastern India's West Bengal on April 12. The incident took place in Sankrail, located in the Jhargram district.

Visuals feature the jumbo straying onto the residential region. The elephants walk in from the adjacent forest cover and wreak havoc amid the area. A group of locals strolls along with the magnificent creature while a few panic-stricken men run to safety.

The elephant that strayed onto the region was a rescued jumbo, who was abandoned by its herd. It wreaked havoc amid the area and destroyed several houses and fields. However, the forest officials were alerted but have not reached the spot yet.
