The volume of works carried out on logging in the Republic of Serbia, compared to the previous year, increased by 3%, in the Region of Vojvodina it increased by 6%, the volume of felled wood totals about 3.4 million m3. The largest part of this volume of wood, about 1.6 million m3 (49%), was used as firewood.
Only in the first five months of this year, according to the data, illegally felled 2,613 cubic meters of wood in state forests, according to the data, as many as 7,147 cubic meters of forests were felled. It is stated that 8,515 cubic meters were illegally cut last year.
Afforestation in Vojvodina is below any minimum, and in as many as 14 municipalities it is below 1 percent.
In the last few years, it has been noticed that the rate of decline in afforestation has been over 20 percent
