Two cars made a giant wave as they drove towards each other on a flooded road following heavy rain in Indonesia.

Footage shows how the two ripples created from either vehicle slammed into each other – amplifying the wave which then smashed into a nearby shop like a mini tsunami.

Onlooker Fadzil Noor Hasibuan said he was feet were drenched by the unexpected road wave in Medan, North Sumatra, Indonesia on April 7.

He added: ‘Maybe the drivers tried to take a short cut and they didn’t know that this area is prone to flooding.’
