Firemen battle a blaze that rapidly spread through the Bueng Kan Province, Thailand.

The footage was filmed on April 25, 2021 and shows more than 1,000 acres of land burned. The lack of rainfall and hot, dry conditions allowed the fires to spread.

Officials believe the fires may have been started by hunters and foragers who lit campfires.

Attempts have been made to tackle the crisis but the situation has not yet improved.

Firemen were battling wildfires in northern Thailand this morning (April 15) with more than 1,000 acres of land burned.

The blaze started on Monday and flames rapidly spread due to the hot and dry conditions alongside months of drought due to a lack of rain in Bueng Kan province.

Officials believe that some of the fires may have been started by hunters and foragers who light small camp fires to herd animals towards traps. The blaze also burns off the top layer of earth to reveal rare plants hidden in the soil underneath.
