A pedestrian's narrow escape was caught on CCTV after the roof of a building crashed to the ground in Uttar Pradesh, India.

Footage from April 16 shows the moment a large metal sheet was ripped off a roof by strong winds and collapsed just a few inches away from a passerby.

The sheet of metal damaged a car and nearby motorcycles in Meerut.

A storm uprooted a tin shed on the terrace of a building and dumped it on a parking lot from great height with full force. A man who was passing underneath saw the falling tin shed and scrambled to safety. The sharp sheet of metal fell very close to him missing him by a hairbreadth. The tin shed damaged a car and many motorcycles but did not cause loss of life or injury. The incident took place in Meerut city in the state of Uttar Pradesh on April 16 and was captured by the CCTV camera of Metro Plaza shopping complex. The storm caused havoc in the city uprooting trees and hoardings.
