Officials apprehended four people involved in selling remdesivir injections in the black market in central India's Madhya Pradesh on April 18. The incident took place in Bhopal.

Visuals from the incident feature the stolen injection that is recovered by the police. Moreover, the police officials apprehend all the four involved in selling the injections in the black market at a much higher price.

The incident has revealed the malpractice of selling drugs at a higher price for profit to those in need. Each injection was allegedly bought at Rs. 7000 (USD 93.58) and were being sold for about Rs. 12000 to Rs.18000 (USD 160-240). As the number of COVID cases surge in the country, the police department is vigilant and investigating more into the case.

Moreover, based on intel that some miscreants were selling remdevisir injections near the Islami Gate in Shahjahanabad, four accused, identified as Shami Khan, Akhlakh Khan, Dr. Ehsan Khan, and Noman Khan were apprehended by a team of crime branch. Crime No. 122/2021 under Section 269, 270 Section 53/57 Disaster Management Act, Section 3 Epidemic Act, Section 3/7 Essential Commodities Act, Section 5/13 Madhya Pradesh Offence under the Drugs Control Act were registered and taken into consideration.
