Jet crosses centre of waxing gibbous moon in Sheerness, Kent, UK

Buy video

A Lufthansa Airbus A320 plane seen crossing the waxing gibbous moon rising this evening (April 23) from Sheerness, Kent.

Monday/Tuesday of next week will see a full pink moon.

The 12 frames making up this video were taken using an Olympus EM1 Mark II camera set to burst mode & with an Olympus 100-400mm lens, with the plane crossing the face of the moon purely by luck!

It's relatively rare to capture a plane crossing the moon from north Kent, as these sort of shots are normally done closer to airports - a 'once in a blue moon' occurence or 'blue sky'!
