Wildlife photographer discovers a massive lizard under a rock whilst hiking

Wildlife photographer Ewan Wilson (age 25) was hiking on the hills outside the town of Alcala De Henares when he spotted a collection of giant stone slabs just off his trail. Animals like reptiles and amphibians love these rocks, so curiosity got the better of Ewan.

He walked up to the biggest rock he could find and lifted it up and to his surprise he discovered a massive 2ft long Iberian lizard. This was an incredible find for the photographer as it proves the ecosystem is healthy enough to sustain this big lizard. Most lizards to my understanding are omnivorous, so the land hast to have a healthy amount of mice, insects and edible plants to keep this lizard fed.
