Kind animal rescuers saved a helpless rat snake entangled with wires while floating around a filthy canal in Samut Prakan province, Thailand.

Rescue team member, Nan, 38 saw the long figure moving in the canal outside the house he went to volunteer at and soon realised it was a snake.

He immediately used a pole to drag the creature up from the sewage. Nan and his friend held on to the rat snake while cutting off the metal coils around its body.

It wasn’t long before he and his friend managed to cut off all the messy tangles from the reptile’s body.

He said: ‘When I saw the snake stuck, I thought I really had to do something. We decided to free it from the wires and release it to the forest.’
