A herd of elephants was spotted strolling across a lake in Sri Lanka's North Central province on April 27. The incident took place in the forest present in the Kala Wewa reservoir region.

A video features a herd of elephants walking over to a forest cover on the other side of a lake. The magnificent creatures take a dip in the waterhole while a couple of them walk rapidly across the lake, splashing water everywhere. The herd, including a couple of tuskers, ambles across the forest cover at their own pace against the backdrop of a dark sky.

The Kala Wewa region is known for the presence of elephants in the area. The jumbos often stray off their corridors and towards the village to look for subsistence, making the locals familiar with such incidents.
