Workers day in Cape Town, South Africa, was marked by members of the South African Municipal Workers Union (SAMWU), marching to the Civic Centre.

The workers are part of a group that includes seasonal employees, firefighters, and general workers who have either lost their jobs, are not permanently employed or are facing redundancy.

The clip also features an interview with Reverend Chris Nissen, Western Cape Commissioner for the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC), who underlines the impact of COVID-19 on workers.
