Today is International Labor Day. A holiday that serves as a reminder of the realized rights of workers.

In the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, many will mark it on the streets, looking for better conditions in their work environments, in the workplace.

Miners first on the streets
Miners are the first to take to the streets. About 250 of them. The symbolic, half-hour walk will stop in front of the Energoinvest building, where the seat of the Federation Government is. There they will make their demands.

"Stop the unjust and inhumane restructuring of the mine." A few hours after the miners, about 50 workers in the metal sector will leave in front of the Trade Union House in Sarajevo.

Trade workers and caterers have the same requirements. The May Day protest march starts at noon.

"Urgent increase in the minimum wage as it stagnates for years. "Citizens, workers in this sector are barely making ends meet."

The NGO Trade Union will also provide support to the Trade Union of Traders and Caterers.

Previously, they organized several protests when they demanded urgent dismissals of executive authorities, both in BiH and in the Federation. Reason: inadequate response to the COVID pandemic, lack of vaccines.
