Clashes between street vendors (PKL) and members of the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) occurred again under the Multipurpose Pedestrian Bridge, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta on Sunday (2/5/2021) afternoon. Initially, Satpol PP members had appealed to street vendors not to block the road for pedestrians. Traders are asked to immediately move their merchandise. However, Satpol PP assessed that the appeal was not made by the traders. Finally, a member of the Satpol PP, who was provoked by emotion, immediately pulled out the merchants' goods. The merchant who did not receive his merchandise was brought by this officer immediately tried to arrest him. An action of tug of war and chaos ensued. However, the chaos between street vendors and Satpol PP members did not last long. TNI and Polri members broke up the riot. The raid in the Tanah Abang Market area was deliberately carried out by joint officers from Satpol PP, TNI and Polri to anticipate crowds. The control was also carried out to prevent the existence of a new Covid-19 cluster from a shopping center
