During late afternoon, a female Mute Swan (Cygnus olor), was filmed sitting on it's nest tidying it and making any very small repairs that it may have needed. The swans recorded on the Oakham canal in the county of Rutland in England, United Kingdom.

The Mute Swan is called that because it is less vocal than other species of swan.

This white, beautiful waterbird has an orange beak bordered with black and is recognisable by its pronounced knob atop the beak, which is larger in males.

Mute swans nest on large mounds that they build with waterside vegetation in shallow water on islands in the middle or at the very edge of a lake. They are monogamous and often reuse the same nest each year, restoring or rebuilding it as needed. Male and female swans share the care of the nest, and once the cygnets are fledged it is not uncommon to see whole families looking for food.

The Mute swan lays up to seven eggs between late April and early May. Both the Pen and the Cob incubate the eggs, which hatch after 35-41 days. The young birds, or cygnets, sometimes ride on their parents' backs remaining with the adult birds for four to five months. Cygnets are generally dingy brown above and whitish below.
