Two memorial plaques can be seen close together on St Thomas Hospital wall south of Westminster Bridge. A plaque bearing the inscription "In loving memory of the victims of Human BSE (vCJD). Always in our thoughts. Human BSE Foundation" that was erected on the wall of St Thomas' Hospital facing the Houses of Parliament some years ago, remains in place after the listed wall has been turned into The National COVID Memorial for 150 000 victims of the coronavirus in the United Kingdom. The organisation which installed the BSE plaque on the hospital wall - the Human BSE Foundation - has since been wound up.
