A doctor, identified as MPN Khare, devised flowmeters and distributed them to the COVID-19 patients free of cost in central India's Madhya Pradesh on May 1. The incident took place in Chhatarpur.

Visuals feature several COVID-19 patients getting treated inside a hospital ward with the help of the makeshift flowmeter. Later, an expert verifies the working of the device by attaching it to an oxygen tank inside the medical institution.

Moreover, Dr. Khare shed light on how he created the device. He made the flowmeter by attaching a syringe to an oxygen tank and connecting it with an underwater seal. His team initially tested it on a patient, following the success of which they started distributing it to the needy for free.

The second wave of the unprecedented Coronavirus has crippled the healthcare system of the country. Several patients die daily because of the lack of medical facilities. In the face of this, Dr. Khare developed the flow meter as the need of the hour.

In the past three days, he has contributed over 120 makeshift flowmeters to the hospitals while his team has been engaged in manufacturing nearly 50 flowmeters daily, which they will be further distributing to the needy for free.
