Sandstorm engulfs buildings during dry weather in Dubai
Terrifying footage shows a massive sandstorm engulfing buildings in the United Arab Emirates.
The strong winds picked up loose sand from around the structures and reduced visibility in Dubai on April 28.
Resident Myrasol Mamolo Stevenson said the government advised them to stay at home as much as possible until the weather phenomenon passes.
She said: ‘It was really scary and looked dangerous to drive outside. The government advised us to stay inside our homes as much as possible.’
Sandstorms, also called dust storms, are caused by a combination of drought and strong winds. The gusts blow across dry surfaces and whip up dust and dirt in the air which forms dense clouds.
