Rare white Curlew spotted in Teesdale County Durham

Buy video

This rare almost white or leucistic Curlew was spotted on farmland in Teesdale County Durhan on Tuesday 4th May 2021.
In leucistic birds (not a true albino), affected plumage lacks melanin pigment due to the cells responsible for melanin production being absent. This results in white feathers.

I have included a clip of a normal coloured Curlew for comparison.
