A surrendered militant, identified as Tauseef Ahmad, appealed to three other trapped terrorists to give in in northern India's Jammu and Kashmir on May 6. The incident took place in the Shopian district.

A cordon laid by a joint party of police, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and the Army trapped four militants recently recruited by the Albadar militant outfit. The authorities observed maximum restraint and appealed the holed-up terrorists to surrender multiple times.

However, the militant group refused to capitulate and fired and lobbed grenades at the joint search party. Following this, the forces retaliated, leading to an encounter that claimed the lives of three terrorists, and one of them surrendered to the security forces. Moreover, the army officials recovered four pistols from the site of the encounter.
