Officials in Rajasthan, northern India, rescued a 4-year-old boy who fell into a 90-foot-deep well.

Footage from May 6 shows a crowd of officials gathered around the narrow pit as they attempted to haul the child out of the well in Jalore.

During the 18-hour rescue operation, a camera was lowered down to check on the boy's wellbeing.

Oxygen was also pumped down into the gap. When the boy, Anil Dewasi, was pulled out the officials began cheering.

Dewasi had fallen into the well after losing his balance while playing.

The 4-year-old was given medical attention straightaway.

A four-year-old boy fell into a 90-feet-deep-well, following which the emergency services personnel conducted an 18-hour-long rescue operation to save him in northern India's Rajasthan on May 6. The incident took place in the Lachri village, located in the Jalore district.

Visuals feature the officials lowering a camera into the pit to surveil the four-year-old. Upon ensuring his wellbeing, the authorities initiate the rescue operation and pump oxygen inside the well via a pipe. They also keep communicating with the boy to make sure that he does not fall asleep. Later, the officials pulled the child out while the onlookers cheered the proceedings.

The four-year-old, identified as Anil Dewasi, was playing near the newly dug borewell on his father's farm. While playing, he tried to remove the cover, following which he lost his balance and slid inside it. Following this, the locals raised an alarm and alerted the authorities.

Teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the State Disaster Relief Force (SDRF) reached the village and initiated the rescue operation. However, it initially got delayed by a few hours due to the absence of the required expertise for such an operation.

The rescue operation lasted for nearly 18 hours, at the end of which the emergency services personnel successfully rescued Anil at around 2.30 am. Following this, the child was given the necessary medical attention to ensure his wellbeing.
