Distressing moment police shot dead stray dog suspected of biting locals in China
Extremely distressing footage shows police officers shooting dead a stray German shepherd that was suspected of biting locals in southern China.
The police received reports of a German shepherd biting people on the street so they killed the dog.
Chinese netizens have differing opinions after watching the video - some think they didn’t see actually the dog injuring people so policemen may not be right.
Others are outraged by the brutal actions of the police, one said: "Please give us the truth. We didn't see the dog injuring people, we only saw policemen shooting the dog over and over again. Why do you have to kill it? Isn't there a better way?"
However, some support the policemen and think it’s the responsibility of the dog’s owner.
The video was filmed on May 3 and provided by local media.
