Four people have been treated after a fire broke out on the Royal Navy ship RFA Fort Victoria.

Footage from May 10 shows emergency services from Bridport, Dorchester and Weymouth at Portland Port where the vessel was moored.

The fire has been extinguished and four personnel are being treated for smoke inhalation according to Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Four people have been treated by medical crews after a fire broke out on a Royal Navy ship RFA Fort Victoria.

Emergency services from across Dorset, including fire crews from Bridport, Dorchester, Portland and Weymouth, were called to Portland Port at 7.18am on Monday morning (May 10) to respond to reports of a fire on a moored ship.

The ship, is part of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary, Fort Victoria normally supports the Royal Navy aircraft carriers.

A Navy spokesman said: “RFA Fort Victoria, currently in Portland has this morning had a minor fire, which was quickly extinguished by the ships company.

"As is standard protocol in these situations, the local emergency services were called.

"There were no serious injuries."
