Khanyisa is an orphaned albino elephant rescued in January 2020 from a poacher’s snare. She came to Hoedspruit Elephant Rehabilitation and Development (HERD) and went through three months of rehabilitation for the horrific wounds caused by the snare. Since then, Khanyisa has been integrated into to the Jabulani herd of rescued elephants and now spends her days out in the wild with them.

This includes Timisa, the bigger elephant calf seen in this video. Timisa sadly lost her mother during a drought and was rescued in 2015. Being closest in age, Timisa and Khanyisa love to spend time together in the bush.
