Dramatic CCTV footage has emerged from China of children playing on a motorway amid traffic.

In the footage, captured on a security camera in Fujian Province on Friday, nearly twenty children can be seen playing on the road for about ten minutes. Some can still be seen playing as traffic narrowly passes them.

According to local reports, the children are between eight and fourteen years old and live in a nearby village.

They are said to have been playing on the highway regularly since last July - leading to increased police patrols.
