A couple of police officials raided the marketplace and thrashed a businessman for opening his store amid the Covid-19 curfew in central India's Madhya Pradesh on May 9. The incident took place in Datia.

A video witnessing the incident features the cops entering the marketplace in broad daylight. Following this, they open the shutter of one such shop and discover an ongoing shopping spree. However, everyone hurries their way out of the region after spotting the policemen while they begin to slap the trader for violating the Covid-19 curfew norms and opening his store amid the crisis.

Amid the surge in Covid-19 cases, the state had imposed a lockdown till the situation got better. However, due to the curfew, the businessmen faced a huge loss, and to recover it, they opened their shops discretely around 4 in the morning for locals to buy their commodities.

Moreover, the police officials discovered them and raided the market, and apprehended the businessmen for not following the Covid-19 curfew guidelines. Furthermore, the cops have detained and began an investigation against 34 such store owners.
