Thousands of vehicles dominated by motorbikes returned to the border route of Bekasi and Karawang on Monday, 10 May 2021 at night until Tuesday, 11 May 2021 in the morning.
They were asked to turn around by the officers because of the ban on going home. However, they met with resistance by turning off the motorbike engine and parking in the streets. This makes for a long traffic jam. In the end, the officers were overwhelmed and gave up. The police opened an isolation post and let the travelers pass without being checked.
The government prohibits going home on May 6-17, 2020 in order to prevent an increase in Covid-19 cases.
