Scores of South Africans marched to parliament in Cape Town today (May 11) to condemn recent attacks by Israeli police against Muslims at the Al Aqsa Mosque.

A raid by the Israeli police on the holy site in Jerusalem left hundreds of Palestinians wounded. Hamas later responded by firing rockets into southern Israel.

Muslims and people sympathetic to the Palestinian cause marched to South Africa’s parliament to condemn the recent attacks by Israeli security against muslims during prayers at the Al Aqsa mosque.

Martin Jansen from the Palestine Solidarity Campaign called the actions of Israel a genocide. In recent days Palestinians have been met with force as they were evicted from their homes in order to make way for Israeli settlers.

Seeham Samaai, an attorney and social justice activist, joined the march and has condemned the attacks by Israeli forces against the Palestinians.
