A cool video has emerged of a 93-year-old man performing an impressive drum solo.

The footage was captured by the man’s proud son in a home in Todos Santos, Baja California Sur, Mexico earlier this month.

“Our father, Eddie Scharf, has been playing drums since he was a child,” his son later wrote online.

“He played professionally as a teenager, helping support his parents and family. His father, Harry Scharf, was a professional drummer, who played many different kinds of jobs including live percussion in movie theaters during the 1920’s.

“Dad went into the Army as a drummer, but quit the Army band to join his good friends who were in the infantry. His WWII experience included N. Africa, Italy, Corsica, Sicily, France, and he participated in The Battle of The Bulge.

“When the war ended, he went back to Newark, NJ and worked at Bamburger's Dept. Store in the Tobacco Dept., where he met his future wife, Francis Sherman, who worked in the Cosmetic Dept. They married in 1946, and had two daughters, Wendy & Judith, and one son, Robby.

“Ed was working for Kislak Mortgage Banking company in Newark when he was given an opportunity to go out west and develop a west coast office for them, which he and Fran jumped at. He immediately recognized the incredible opportunities out west and within six months, he opened his own company, Edward Scharf Associates. He eventually had offices in Los Angeles, Dallas, and Honolulu. With Ed’s real estate background and Fran’s interior design skills, they were buying, living in, and flipping homes in the L.A. area long before it was fashionable. Throughout these years, he only played drums at functions where there was a drum set. But in the mid 1990’s when Fran got ill with Pick’s Disease (a form of Alzheimer’s), he took up playing again. Fran passed away in 2009 and Dad's never stopped playing. Since 2007, we've shot at least one video every year, and he just seems to get better with age!

“We hope you enjoy Eddie Scharf, Our 93 3/4 Year Old Drumming Father!”
