This unsuspecting dog strayed into an algae-covered pond thinking it was just another patch of grass.

Joop Nissink was filming his dog who suddenly fell into the green-topped pond.

The startled dog named Shiloh then frantically began paddling towards the edge of the pond.

Nissink said: "Shiloh was walking around and then she saw something that she thought was grass but it wasn’t and this caused her to fall into the water. We didn’t help her at first but did so as soon as we stopped recording."

This footage was filmed on May 1 in Barneveld, the Netherlands.

The filmer and his partner break into laughter as the tiny pup realizes her mistake and tries swimming back to the surface.
