South Africa's Muslim Judicial Council (MJC) and the ruling African National Congress (ANC) has criticised the stance of it's largest opposition party, the Democratic Alliance (DA) , for its stance on Palestine. The DA has failed to condemn the Israeli attacks on Palestinians at the Al Aqsa Mosque.

Sheikh Riyaad Fataar, the deputy president of the MJC, urged the DA controlled Western Cape Provincial government to issue a statement against Israel.

Faiez Jacobs, an ANC member of parliament, said the DA has clearly sided with Israel as the oppressors of the Palestinian people.
