A protest in Bogota briefly erupted into chaos as crowds chased down a suspected thief.

Footage from May 12 at an anti-government protest shows dozens of demonstrators frantically chase after a man wearing a black top and a rucksack.

The alleged thief is then caught and the protest gradually returns to normal.

Plaza Bolivar, Bogotá, Colombia: Anti-government protests in downtown appeared to be peaceful. In this clip, however, a thief is chased down by the crowd in the middle of what had been something of a carnival atmosphere.

For the past two weeks, mass protests have rocked Colombia, leaving at least 42 people dead and hundreds injured. A change to tax law presented by President Ivan Duque has been reported as the trigger of the protests.
