Locals had to tread carefully to avoid stepping on hundreds of horned toads migrating in southern China.

The video shows that near a pond in Qianlingshan Park, Guiyang, is littered with hundreds of horned toads.

According to a researcher at the Wildlife and Forest Plant Management Station, the horned toads will leave the pond and begin to live mainly on land.

Since the young toads are still very weak, park staff help drive them up the hill and help them cross the road.

The video courtesy was filmed on May 8 and provided by local media.
