Heartwarming footage from Minnesota has captured the moment a girl surprised her stepfather with an adoption request hidden inside of a scrapbook. Kendra had been wanting to surprise her stepfather, Rocky Yeats, for a few years but the family had decided to wait until she was a bit older.

Kendra’s mother, Carley Yeats, met Rocky when she was 22 years old and along with her daughter, they fell in love with him rather quickly. Kendra was 2 years old at the time and Rocky stepped up by being the an incredibly supportive father to Kendra. When Carley adopted Rocky’s older children five years ago, Kenda began insisting she wanted to do the same with her stepfather.

In March of this year Carley Yeats, along with other family members, decided the time was right. Kendra came up with the idea to make a book full of pictures and memories with her stepfather, ending with a page to make the adoption official. Once the scrapbook was presented to Rocky, he read the contents out loud before becoming overcome with emotion at the end. Thankfully Kenda was on hand to read the final page and give her father a big hug.

Speaking about the video Carley Yeats said: ‘I met my husband when I was 22 years old and my daughter was 2 and we fell in love rather quickly. He really stepped up to the plate and has been the most amazing father to my daughter, and the only daddy she knows!

She has really been wanting her dad to adopt her. This year she wanted to make a book full of pictures and memories with her and her dad. So we made this book and gave it to him and obviously we know how he reacted - he was full of tears and full of love, which in turn made everybody in the room cry.’
