The locals disciplined themselves and ensured that everyone follows the Covid-19 protocols in central India's Madhya Pradesh on May 14. The incident took place in the Janakpur village, located in the Sagar district.

Visuals feature the locals spreading awareness amongst themselves regarding the Covid-19 protocols. A man carries a drum and loudly announces the guidelines. Later, a few men also distribute masks to the villagers and barricade the entrance of the village to restrict the entry of any outsiders.

Upon understanding the seriousness of the second wave of the Coronavirus crisis, the villagers took it upon themselves to maintain discipline and stop the virus from spreading. In light of that, the village council restricted the entry of outsiders in the village, imposed fines on mask violators, and opened public medical camps.

The locals can visit the camps for regular steam inhalation sessions and medication for any health-related issues. Moreover, given the safety precautions taken by the villagers, the region housing 1,465 people haven't encountered a single Covid-19 case so far.
