Rough waves struck the coastline due to the impact of cyclone Tauktae in southern India's Karnataka on May 15. The incident took place at Someshwara beach in Ullal, on the outskirts of Mangalore city.

A video features huge waves hitting the coastal region, along with the gusty winds. Following this, the weather condition intensifies in the area while the authorities continue to alert the locals residing near the place against the cyclonic storm. Meanwhile, a couple of locals approach the beach to behold the occurrence.

The tidal waves have escalated in the region while parts prone to sea erosion witnessed further coastal erosion along the Karnataka coast including Someshwara and Uchchila in the Dakshina Kannada. However, heavy rains did not cause any cyclone-induced flooding in the area so far while the locals have already been warned.
