Officers are on guard at the Tegal Alur Public Cemetery, West Jakarta to anticipate pilgrims who are desperate to enter for pilgrimages in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Earlier on Friday, May 14, 2021, several pilgrims broke through the fence at the Tegal Alur Public Cemetery because they were not allowed to enter for pilgrimage to the graves of their relatives.
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has prohibited residents from pilgrimage at public cemeteries from 12-16 May 2021. The elimination of this pilgrimage activity was carried out to anticipate the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
