This footage was filmed and produced 18 May 2021.

After setting consecutive records with the number of daily cases reaching as high as 60,000, Ankara on April 29 imposed the strictest lockdown that brought life to a standstill across the country. The measures, however, proved effective as the number of daily infections rapidly declined. Since Monday, Turkey has stepped into ‘gradual normalization’ period.

The video shows people enjoying a sunny weather in Kugulu Park amid the coronavirus pandemic in Ankara, Turkey. The Turkish government imposes a weeknight curfew and will implement a full lockdown on weekends until the end of this month as part of the new 'gradual normalisation' period. With the new set of rules, people can travel by car and go to shopping malls on the weekend. Restaurants and cafes will also be allowed to serve deliveries and take-away orders.
