A team of officials seized 240 kg of marijuana from four smugglers in southern India's Andhra Pradesh on May 19. The incident took place in Ramavaram, located in Jaggampeta Tehsil of East Godavari district.

A video features several sacks filled with cannabis lying on the ground. Moreover, the cops seize all the illicit items, along with two vehicles, including a swift and an Innova. Meanwhile, they disclose the matter to the public.

In an inspection conducted by two Village Revenue Officers (VRVOs) of Jaggampeta, around 240 kg of cannabis, four cell phones, two rented cars worth Rs. 9,700 (USD 132) were recovered and seized from a Rajasthan Hotel in Ramavaram on Jaggampeta National Highway. Moreover, four miscreants identified as Sindol Ravinder Reddy, Hodagal Ranjit Reddy, Syed Arif Sami, and Mekala Ramakrishna, all hailing from Hyderabad, went to Annavaram to rent an Innova car. Following this, they went to Vizag to rent a Swift Desire. Then they took a time off for two days in Annavaram and left for Darakonda.

In Darakonda, they bought the cannabis from a man named Lova Raju for about Rs. 2,000 (USD 27) per kg and hid them inside the cars. Moreover, they decided to sell them for over Rs. 5,000 (USD 68) per kg in Hyderabad. However, their car broke down on the highway, following which they approached the Hotel.

As the car took over 12 hours to get repaired, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) reached the spot, conducted their search, and seized all the illicit items from the four accused. Moreover, Sindol Ravinder Reddy had a few cases against him related to the same matter. Furthermore, the Circle Inspector (CI) of Jaggampeta, Suresh Babu, advised the goons to not commit such crimes in the future.
