An elephant was spotted chasing the locals amid a street in northern India's Uttarakhand on May 18. The incident took place in Kalagarh in Pauri Garhwal.

A video features a couple of two-wheelers driving across a street surrounded by greenery on either side. Following this, an elephant roams on the sidelines and begins approaching the bikers and the pedestrians as soon it discovers their presence. Panic ensues amid the locals, and they hurriedly turn their vehicle around to drive away. However, the elephant breaks into a run and chases after them.

Following the incident, the jumbo drifted away into the sidelines while the locals evacuated the street. The elephants in the region are known for straying off their corridors to look for subsistence. They often take to the streets and chase after the passers-by upon being bothered, making the locals familiar with such incidents. Furthermore, people should be cautious when in proximity to these animals as any disruption draws their attention to them.
