Over 200 villagers evacuated as dam failure caused by landslide in southern China
Over 200 villagers have been evacuated due to a dam failure caused by a landslide in southern China.
The video, shot in the city of Xiangxiang in Hunan Province on May 20, shows a large amount of water pouring down a mountain and submerging the fields.
The local government evacuated more than 200 villagers urgently after an officer spotted a landslide.
The dam failure occurred half an hour after the villagers were evacuated safely.
Over 667,000-square-metres of field were flooded but no casualties were reported.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
